Activities Montreal City Mission is a communityministry of the United Church of Canada that works in partnership with our inter-faith neighbors, grass-roots organizations, government, corporations and academic institutions on a wide range of social justice issues. The Mission has been providing services in the downtown core of Montreal for over 100 years, and in May 2010 received the ‘Jacques Couture Citizenship Prize 2010 for the Promotion of Intercultural Rapprochement’ from the Quebec Minister of Immigration and Cultural communities.

In addition to participating in many community working groups, MCM has developed various programs including “Project Refuge”, a residence that provides transitional housing, support and orientation for refugees, often those fleeing particularly difficult or traumatic situations in their countries of origin,as well as those who have fallen through the cracks, dealing with mental or physical health challenges and wound up in precarious living conditions or homeless, and “Just Solutions”, a clinic that provides legal information, assistance, and rights advocacy to vulnerable individuals with regard to immigration status, social benefit entitlements and housing. This mission also runs youth and intergenerational programs such as Camp Cosmos, the Every Kid Choir and the Every Senior Choir that bring together children and adults from diverse backgrounds.

All have the right to authentic participation in community. Montreal City Mission works to enable the journey from exclusion to community through the values of hospitality, compassion and justice.
